It replies with text instead of generating an image

Make the request explicitly ask for an image.

  1. In Home, open + and choose Create image, or open Images and enter an image-generation request.
  2. Say what should be generated, such as “Generate a blue fox server icon on a plain background.” Asking for a description or a prompt may return text instead.
  3. When using Images, choose Icon or Banner with the format picker beside the microphone before sending.
  4. If you are connected to server or bot work, make clear whether you want an image result or a change to channels or code.
  5. Use Home or Images for image generation and editing. Dots can discuss uploaded images but do not generate them.
