My bot will not connect

Check the application and credentials before reconnecting.

  1. On blank Home, open the Server or bot selector and choose Connect Bot. Credentials belong in this separate dialog, never in a chat message.
  2. In Discord’s Developer Portal, check that the Client ID, Client secret and Bot token all belong to the same application you manage.
  3. Enter the current credentials into their matching fields in Connect Bot, removing accidental spaces.
  4. Submit once and wait for the result. If a credential was reset, use its new value and verify the returned bot name and avatar.
  5. Choose the saved bot for your conversation and describe what it should do. If the connection fails, report the error text without the credentials.
