Use Web search and inspect sources

Request current information and review the cited original pages.

  1. In Home, open + → Web search and enter a clear question, including any place, date or constraints that matter.
  2. In Settings → Personalization, Web search controls automatic searching; the composer selection makes a specific search request explicit.
  3. Wait for the completed answer and inspect the cited source links and dates. An image search result is not necessarily a generated image.
  4. Open original sources for important claims and distinguish evidence from the assistant’s interpretation.
  5. If research fails, read the error before retrying; send support the request time and a non-private description if it repeatedly fails.
