Teen Safety

Clear guidance for young people, parents and the people running Discord communities.

Updated 12 October 2026Effective 12 October 2026

1. Who can use Onecord

The minimum age is 13, or the higher age required where you live or by Discord. Below that age, do not create an account. If you are under 18 and eligible, involve a parent or guardian before using paid features or connecting a server.

Onecord is a tool for building and managing communities, not a child-care service, private therapist or trusted human friend. The current release does not offer a parent dashboard or verified age check. Use the safety controls available on Discord, and involve a trusted adult if something feels unsafe.

2. Keep private information private

  • Do not share your home address, school, phone number, passwords, private photos, identity documents, payment details or bot tokens in prompts or public channels.
  • Ask before uploading another person's photo or messages. AI providers process the material you submit, and sent Discord messages follow that server's visibility settings.
  • Use private channels thoughtfully, check who can see them and avoid making personal details public through generated role or channel settings.
  • On shared devices, sign out and clear unsent drafts/site data when needed. Deleting your Onecord account does not remove copies someone else already received.

3. Treat AI as a tool

The assistant can sound confident and still be wrong. It is software, not a person. Do not depend on it for emergencies, mental-health care, medical treatment, legal choices, money decisions or other important real-world decisions. Ask a trusted adult or qualified professional when the situation needs one.

Do not follow dangerous instructions, keep a harmful interaction secret or accept pressure to spend money. If an output is sexual, threatening, manipulative or upsetting, stop using it and tell a trusted adult. You do not have to keep interacting to prove something or preserve a streak.

4. Safer Discord communities

A server administrator should review the generated channels, roles and permissions before applying them. Use appropriate Discord moderation and safety settings, keep reporting routes clear and moderate who can contact young members. A bot's permissions or AI moderation do not guarantee that a community is safe.

Block and report users who bully, threaten, ask for sexual content, demand secrecy or move conversations to an unsafe private space. Report harmful Discord messages through Discord as well as reporting Onecord-related misuse. Do not download or re-share child sexual abuse material to make a report; provide non-content identifiers instead.

5. Spending and subscriptions

Ask the payment-card owner before any purchase. Paid plans renew; automatic credit reload can create additional charges when enabled. Check the price and renewal date, and turn automatic reload off separately if you do not want it. Free credits are limited and are not a promise of unlimited free use.

A parent or guardian concerned about an unauthorized purchase can use Onecord support and their payment provider. We will review applicable rights and the facts; no blanket forfeiture of refund rights is imposed on young users.

6. Get help

If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services now. Onecord is not an emergency service and its support channel is not monitored as a crisis helpline.

In the UK, Childline offers help for under-19s on 0800 1111. CEOP provides a reporting route for online sexual abuse of children. In other countries, use an appropriate local child-protection or emergency service. Speak to a trusted adult where safe to do so.

For a Onecord safety concern, use Onecord support with the account/server/task identifier and a short explanation. Do not send passwords, full card details or explicit abusive material. A report about someone else does not automatically give a parent access to that person's account; identity, authority and the young person's rights must be considered.
